  1. An Intimate, Majestic Wedding at Mandalay Bay

  2. Shannon and Jesse traveled from Los Angeles to get married in a private club on October 11.

The ideal getaway: “We wanted to have an out-of-town wedding that everyone would still be able to attend,” Shannon says. “Las Vegas is a quick flight or a short drive away and somewhere guests of all ages could enjoy—for not just one night but an entire weekend. The wedding was the only scheduled event because we wanted everyone to have flexibility to do things they would enjoy; our flower girl and ring bearer thought the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay was the greatest thing ever! We loved giving friends and family an excuse to make new memories during our wedding weekend.”couple at their wedding reception at the mandalay bay in las vegas.

Venue with a view: “It was important to us to find an unconventional reception space, somewhere that would make our 50 guests say, ‘Wow, this is different and beautiful,’” Shannon says. “The Foundation Room checked all the boxes: that Vegas flair you can only get there, a relaxed, partylike atmosphere, intricate details and an amazing view from the 64th floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The venue coordinators also sold us; they were beyond helpful in every way and had an answer to every question I threw at them—and I’m not one to hold back my questions. Plus, they served a world-class menu and standout cocktails.”the foundation room at the mandalay bay wedding reception detailsDIY Details: “We chose a gold and deep purple color scheme to complement the space, and I designed the decorations and centerpieces,” Shannon says. “I sent a picture of our invitation suite to Las Vegas Custom Cakes and let them work their magic from there—they did an awesome job! The two-tier cake definitely captured the old Las Vegas vibe I was looking for, and the final product was stunning and delicious. Hosting our wedding in Las Vegas was the best decision we could have made. It will always be a memorable day for us, and our guests still talk about our wedding, saying it was one of the best they’ve ever attended.”

Hidden gem: “We grew up here and met here, so we looked for a local venue people wouldn’t think could be found in Las Vegas,” Jenna says. “We took our 97 guests—from eight states—away from the bright lights and big city for a destination wedding in the place we’re lucky enough to live.”wedding reception room at springs preserve in las vegas.Enchanted escape: “Our rehearsal dinner was on the outdoor patio at Public School, a gastropub in Downtown Summerlin with amazing food and an awesome beer selection,” Jenna says. “We and most of our guests stayed nearby at one of our favorite hotels, the JW Marriott; we go there every few weeks, so that was an easy choice. When it came time to search for venues, the Springs Preserve was the only place we saw—it immediately felt like ‘the one.’ It had the botanical garden feel we were aiming for but with the small touches of the Mojave Desert. You didn’t feel like you were in Las Vegas, but when you stepped into the reception room, you were greeted with a perfect, uninterrupted view of the Strip.”floral details at springs reserve in las vegas reception.Forces of nature: “We wanted to incorporate the nontraditional elements of Las Vegas into the day,” Jenna says. “We love the nearby natural areas of Red Rock Canyon, Mount Charleston and Lake Mead, so it was important to us to find a venue with this type of scenery, and local floral design studio Layers of Lovely complemented the natural setting with beautiful flowers and greenery. Our ceremony was held next to the preserve’s butterfly habitat, so we released butterflies from a box after our ceremony. They didn’t want to leave the box, which made our guests laugh.”

Romantic return: “Las Vegas was the first of many vacations we’ve taken together, and it was where we fell in love,” Tuyen says. “We wanted to recapture that special moment on our wedding night and knew it would be a destination our 100 guests would enjoy.”couple having their first dance at their wedding reception at the mandarin oriental in las vegas.Time-honored tradition: “The celebration started with a tea ceremony at our sister’s home in Henderson, Nevada, the day before our wedding, a nod to my Vietnamese heritage,” Tuyen says. “It allowed our families to meet and come together before the actual wedding. We also hosted a dinner the night before the wedding at Bacchanal Buffet in Caesars Palace. Most of our guests had never been to a Vegas buffet before, so we wanted to take them to one of the top-rated spots.”room set up for wedding reception at the mandarin oriental in las vegas
